Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cinnamon stick, split (to release the flavor)
- 2 black tea bags
- 3 cardamom pods, split open
- 4 whole cloves
- 11/2 cups milk of choice
- sweetener of choice (I prefer maple syrup)
Directions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the water and all other ingredients except the milk and maple syrup. Bring to a boil (4-5 minutes). Stir throughout.
- Add the milk of choice and bring it to a boil. Stir often. Turn the heat off. Allow it to sit for 5-10 mins for extra flavor.
- Using a mesh strainer (remove all the spices, etc), pour the tea mixture into cups and serve. Sweeten as desired.
- If you like, froth some milk and add to the top of the cups when serving.
